Google TV Adds Over 800 Free Channels To Live Tab
Google TV has added over 800 Free Live Channels that can be accessed directly from the home screen.
Google made the announcement via blog post on the Google TV Official Website.
It introduced this feature as “a new live TV experience that lets you browse more than 800 free TV channels across multiple providers, organized in one easy-to-use guide”.
Best of all, these channels will be accessible from the home screen of your Google TV device, built directly into the Live Tab.
Google TV users have likely encountered the Live Tab in the past as it presented various channels from Pluto TV for live streaming.
However, with the latest update, channels from numerous outlets including Tubi, Plex, and Haystack News are integrated for hundreds of live channels.
This will add options for news & local channels such as NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX, as well as programming in more than 10 different languages.
These channels are completely free and easy to access without launching separate applications.
Those who use an IPTV Service such as fubo, YouTube, Sling TV, and more, can also integrate these channels within the live tab for all-inclusive streaming.
This new update is making its way to all Google TV devices such as Smart TVs with Google TV built-in from Sony, TCL, Hisense, and Philips.
Chromecast with Google TV owners can also expect this new feature to roll out to these devices immediately.
We checked our Chromecast with Google TV device and did not notice this new feature added, however, we will continue checking for the update.
Google also plans to implement this into Android TV devices sometime later this year.
