Chromecast with Google TV Updated Ahead of Streamer Release

A new update is now available for Chromecast with Google TV devices including the 1080p model as well as the 4K version.

This is the sixth update for these devices in 2024, as Google has continually stayed on top of these patches with minor fixes.

The latest update upgrades these devices to the July 2024 security patch.

“STTE.240615.007” as it is titled is 143 MB and only lists  “bug fixes and performance improvements” in the official changelog.

This is likely the final update before the arrival of the Google TV Streamer that is set to begin shipping at the end of this month.

We expect more updates in the future that will bring new features including Android TV 14 OS after the release of the Streamer.

However, it is unclear when we will see these changes so for now, the latest software update will have to do.

Use the following guide to learn how to update your Chromecast with Google TV device to the latest software.
